Africana Studies Calls for Papers for 12th Annual Symposium

The 12th Annual Africana Studies symposium at UNC Charlotte will convene on April 2-3, 2014 to examine the widening gaps of national and global inequality through the lens of moral economy. Conference organizers invite abstract submissions by December 15, 2013.

Model United Nations Closes Successful Year

As the 2012-13 academic year comes to a close, the UNC Charlotte Model United Nations team ends the year as its most successful in the team’s history. The team earned 66 awards in the fall and spring, hosted training conferences for area high schools and colleges and attended six conferences.

German Scholarships Support 30 Students' Studies Abroad

30 German majors from UNC Charlotte are studying in Germany this summer and in the 2013-14 academic year. Each student received a $2,000 scholarship to undertake immersive language study in a German-speaking country at one of the locations of the prestigious Goethe Institute. Kurt Waldthausen, founder and president of the GLCF, presented the scholarships.
