College Honors Faculty for Teaching Excellence

College of Liberal Arts & Sciences faculty will be celebrated for their teaching excellence during an awards event on Monday, April 27, beginning at 3 p.m. in Salon A of the James H. Barnhardt Student Activity Center. At the ceremony, the nine finalists for the college’s teaching excellence awards will be recognized.

The awards are the Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Full-Time Lecturer, the Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Part-Time Faculty Member, and the Award for the Integration of Undergraduate Teaching and Research. The recipient of each award will be announced at the event. Refreshments will be served; the campus community is invited.

The nominees for Outstanding Teaching by a Full-Time Lecturer Award are:

  • Tonya Bates, Biological Sciences
  • Sue Hodge, Criminal Justice and Criminology
  • John Taylor, Mathematics and Statistics

The nominees for Outstanding Teaching by a Part-Time Faculty Member Award are:

  • Lawrence Blydenburgh, Criminal Justice and Criminology
  • Allison Hutchcraft, English
  • Janna Shedd, Religious Studies

The nominees for the Integration of Undergraduate Teaching and Research Award are:

  • Paula Connolly, English
  • Robin James, Philosophy
