Parking Details | Weekday Visitor Parking: UNC Charlotte provides five free parking spaces adjacent to the McMillan Greenhouse for gardens, greenhouse visitors. These spaces are in Lot 16A. You may park in one of these spaces Monday – Friday if you sign the sign-in sheet inside McMillan Greenhouse, and note your license plate number. If the visitor spaces are full on weekdays, additional visitor parking is located in East Deck 1 and the Popp Martin Student Union Deck. Find these decks on the campus parking map. Both decks are a six-minute walk from the McMillan Greenhouse with parking fees of $5 for the first hour and $2 each additional hour. |
Join Don Boekelheide, instructor for Landscape for Life, for this impactful series on how to build sustainability into your garden - whether you garden in the suburbs or have acres of land. While conventional gardens work against nature, sustainable gardens are supportive of natural ecosystems and conserve resources. Attend individual classes or attend all six to receive special certification from Landscaping for Life, a collaboration between the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Centre and the United States Botanic Garden. During these classes you will learn how to manage soil and conserve water; create ecological diversity to attract beneficial insects, birds, and wildlife; choose and manage native plants; lbasics of Piedmont ecology, and much more.
